Mutha F$%@in' Friday

My shoes stink.

not my feet.

just my shoes.

weird.

Yesterday I stayed home sicky - I got better though. I feel ok - just a heavy head still.
I still went to school despite staying home from work. It was my first time taking the bus since I have lived down here - it was really easy. Then Trav picked me up and we ate Dairy Queen - and a frozen pizza. No wonder I have a stomach ache. I feel like a piggy.

Stacy and I are off to the Women's Expo this evening. I'm looking forward to walking off my Choco Cherry Love Blizzard.

I'm looking forward to this weekend - Trav is going out of town to Duluth until Monday - I was going to go with him - but a weekend at home with Carmela sounded better than just hanging around Duluth while Trav did his thing. So Carmela and I will be cleaning and creating - hopefully I will finish Tiny Bruce. I took a creative break for a while - but I was watching Miami Ink last night and it totally revved me up. I think being a tattoo artist would be one of the coolest jobs in the world. I would love to be that talented.
I have so many ideas for tattoos for myself - one is already drawn up my Booboo, which I am planning to get soon, Then I had an awesome idea for one that incorporates the tattoo on the small of my back. I'll be working on that this weekend too.

Yeh Creativity!

Warning: Pointless post - and a bit weird.

Holy ballsack, Batman! It's almost February!

Just thought I would let you all know that.

Things that are going on:

I'm getting our taxes done tonight - I'm excited to see what it turns out to be now that we are married. Last year by myself, I got back $140. Federal and State combined! Yeah, tell me about it. We (my Aunt and I) figured out that if Trav and I would have been married - we would have gotten about $2200. BIG dif if you ask me! We are in pretty much the same situation as last year - so I'm sort of expecting a return somewhere around that amount. But I will appreciate any amount that we get.
We are planning to use it for paying off some bills and taking a road trip to visit Trav's Daddy in Kentucky. Why he decided to move to freeeeeeeekin' Kentucky? We shall never know. But we do miss him - so Kentucky it is.

I would love to head to Massachusetts as well to visit my favorite Mother-in-law and my favorite Bruce, I've only experienced the east coast via New Jersey (poop) and Washington D.C. (that was pretty fun and interesting, but I was about 8 or 9 and just did tourist-y crap). I REALLY want to see New York - and Boston, too. I feel like I could fit in really well in Boston, I can fake the accent pretty well and I like beer and baseball. I'm golden! - or should I say "wicked ret-ahhh-ded!"

I won a pair of boots on eBay yesterday! I bid on the pair of brand new chocolate brown boots for like $7.00 on Friday because I was having a really hard time finding the right color and right price boots (seriously, if you have even gone shopping with me - you know how cheap I am- I only shop on clearance racks). I won them yesterday for $11.50! As soon as my paypal account gets set up - they should be here about in about 2-3 days! Woo hoo! They are perfect too - right size, right height, right color. Practically brand new too - they were only worn once - the girl said that her calves are too big for them. Fine by me!

I'm pretty sure I have strep throat. I am at work today - I almost didn't come but I felt a little better after my shower and glass of OJ. It keeps getting worse though. I feel like poop. I might call in tomorrow, I already warned the bosses that I'm not feeling well.

Stacy and I are planning on going to the Women's expo this Friday - pretty much for the free food samples - I love those things! I hope I feel better before then.
Which reminds me that I planned to visit Jessica's this weekend - I won't be able to if I have strep - I don't want Macy to get sick! We will just see though - hopefully it's just a bad bad sore throat that goes away tomorrow or Friday. *fingers crossed*

Still drinking coffee - still hating myself for it.
I did learn that I still hate the taste of it, though. I put a bit of sugar and a bit more creamer in there and that way it doesn't taste like coffee - because I tried it with out anything in there - BARF! then just sugar- BARF! then just creamer- BARF! I need both sugar and creamer and I learned that it's the creamer that takes the coffee taste away.

OK - so I'm going to end this pointless blog before it gets any longer!

But first I will clarify - for Rocky - why Trav and I call each other "Guy"
its really weird how it came about - and we didn't mean for it to stick but it did - and I love it.
How it began:
The movie South Park, Bigger, Longer and Uncut - features the Devil and Saddam Hussein in a homosexual relationship. Saddam is using the Devil to gain control of the world. Events have been foreseen that cause Hell to rise and Earth to become Hell and the Devil to rule. But since The Devil and Saddam are in a relationship, where Saddam is in control - the Devil would be more like the first lady and Saddam the hellish ruler. During their relationship the Devil becomes aware to the fact that he is being used and tries to break it off with Saddam, but Saddam is too charming and tells the Devil he will change - and during this time in the movie Saddam calls the Devil by saying "Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy, Guuuuuuyyyyy!" in a high voice.
I started imitating that voice after the movie because it sounded really funny and I sounded just like him - so Trav and I started saying that to each other in the "Saddam" voice whenever we needed to say something to each other (kind of in place of "Hon" or "Hey") then over time it just became "Guy" or "Hey, Guy". It's kind of sentimental. It's now just one of our "things".
We're weird - but I love it :)

I'm fashioning a noose right about now...

I have now deemed myself the worlds largest hypocrite.

For as long as I can remember I have hated coffee. The smell, the taste, even coffee flavored ice cream. Ick! I probably hated it so much because my Mom and Step-Asshole ALWAYS had coffee in the morning, they could not function without it, and the combination of coffee, cigarettes and morning breath - pretty much made me vomit. Now that I think about it - I actually loathe all three.

Last semester in school, I had 2 classes in the M building, and right across from the M building is a little coffee shop that gives a student discount.

I have been frequenting the little coffee shop ever since. Stopping almost every Tuesday and Thursday for a caramel vanilla frappe. Damn it!

Now I have started to have 1-2 cups of coffee every morning here at work. And I enjoy it thoroughly. I even bought special toffee flavored creamer at the grocery store last night.

I hate myself.

P. S. I assure you though, that I will NEVER start snifffing morning breath nor smoke cigarettes.

....And then there was cleave

This weekend was great! Lots of laughs, fun, drinking and CLEAVE. I had decided to wear my new no-cleave shirt, but then I tried on one of Erin's new shirts and everyone decided that it looked better on me (who knew?) So she gave it to me in exchange for the dresses I bought for Maisie. It's a Baby Phat shirt - orginal price $84! My butt puckers just thinking about it. Good thing she got it on sale!
You'll notice from the pictures that it's the TOTAL opposite of modest.
If you need explanation of the people on the pics - then you don't read my blog enough and shame on you.
Stacy will also be writing a more detailed blog about our girls nights out - check her's at :
www.stacytruth.blogspot.com

will write more tomorrow - gotta go to school!

"We belong to the night..we belong to the thundaaa...."

Well I decided the wear my new shirt today to work and then (if I decide to) wear it out tomorrow - so that way at least I get to wear it twice :)
LOVE IT!
Although - my outfit today is sorta 1985 - I've got on my new favorite black flow-y shirt (which is actually more 70's) and jeans with black kitten heels. But it's the turquoise jewelry and Pat Benetar hair that do me in. That would be Pat Benetar circa Love is a battlefield, by the way.
I like it though, and I've gotten complements.
I wouldn't be surprised if I break out into song with 80's rock ballads sporadically throughout the day.

"Shot through the heart, and your to blame. Darlin, you give love, a bad name...bad name!"

See there I go already.
Gotta love Bon Jovi :)

let me just leave you with this:

"Wake me up - before you go-go. Don't leave me hangin here like a so-lo"

oooooooo and this!

"Taaaaaaaaaake oooooooooon meeeeeeeee, Take on me, Taaaaaaaaake meeeeeeee oooooonnnn!"

oh! oh! and this!

"If your lost you can look and you will find me......time after time..... If you fall I will catch you - I'll be wait-ting......time after time...."

"TURN AROUND......every now and then I get a little bit lonely and your never coming 'round.
TURN AROUND......every now and then I get a little but tired of listnen' to the sound of my tears.
TURN AROUND......every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by.
TURN AROUND......every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes
every now and then I fall apart
turn around bright eyes
every now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight!
And I need you more than ever!
And if you only hold me tight.....We'll be holding on forever!
And we'll only be making it right'....Cause we'll never be wrong Together!

We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time (All of the time)
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight!
Forever's gonna start tonight!
Forever's gonna start tonight!

Once upon a timeI was falling in love
But now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do

A total eclipse of the heart."

sdjfhd[fpaosjdifpoa sbha;oshfpauisdhf'aposidfhliudyhas;oifhns'pkafjsna

Ugh, oh, flurg, squeak,

What just happened? I just blacked out for a minute there.

Oh lord, I must have had a TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART!!!!!!!

HA!- gotta go now - good luck getting those songs out of your head for the rest of the weekend! :)

Girls just wanna have fun...I mean cleave.

Shopping last night was great. Who does not love shopping, seriously? I went to Marshall's to try and find a Rocca Wear outfit for Maisie Moo Moo - I found two. So I bought them. I sent pics of them to E-Dizzy (we decided that's her new name so every time I see her I have to say "E-Dizzy in the Hizzy!" we are dorks, this I know)
Anyways - she loved them and can't wait to try them on the Mouse this weekend.

I also stopped at Dots to try and find a cute "going out" shirt, since I wear the same stuff every time I go out up there. I ended up buying a shirt and some sunglasses and cute bracelets - except one of the bracelets doesn't quite match what I needed it to - so I'm gonna have to exchange that. The shirt is SUPER cute - nothing like the cleavage bearing slut suits I am used to wearing - NO CLEAVE AT ALL! That's right - NO CLEAVE. Me, the queen of CLEAVE - will be wearing - or should I say bearing - NONE.
That is of course if I don't change my mind and wear the same ol' stuff. I love the new shirt so much I want to wear it everyday! - and if I wear it out to "da club" it will get smelly. Febreeze doesn't get the bar smell out of clothes - laundry soap barely does.

decisions, decisions....

Well I have to leave early today for school - so I'm out!

but one more note:

Stacy,
If you cannot post nice comments about Harry Potter lovers such as myself, Rocky and Nancy. Then do refrain from posting any at all. MUGGLE!

- Love you :)

Sorting Hat

Oh and to answer Rocky's comment from two posts ago:

Uh - HELLLOOOO-OOO, of course I am in Gryffindor! Duh! :)
I clearly REEK with the characteristics of a classic Gryffindor-ian:
Brave - Bold - Passionate.

I mean COME ON! I even have the scarf!

and yes I was properly sorted into that house by non other than the smartest hat in the world!
get sorted yourself and let me know - follow these directions:
(there isn't a direct link - so I have to give some directions)

ok click on this link : http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/index.html

then, on the upper right corner it says "Open Marauder's Map"
click on that while admiring Ron's LOVELY scarf :)

then, click on the word "Hogwarts" on the upper left side of the map

then, click on "Castle Grounds" on the lower right corner of the map

THEN, click on "Sorting Hat" just to the left of "Yule Ball" "(which is in the center)

follow the directions from there and let me know which house you belong to!

Good Luck!

I can already feel the wind whipping through my hair...

Things I've done since my last post:

Went back to school - Thursday was my first class - Entrepreneurship.

Went to a Cardio Dance class with Stacy that totally kicked our asses!

Babysat Connor and Brittney and did 6 loads of laundry (we aren't even done with all the laundry yet!)

Spend $100 on a car part that didn't even work(actually I found out yesterday that we didn't even need to replace it - nice)

Went to a movie

Dyed my hair

and

Worked, worked some more and then did some more work.

There is a nice sum up for you of my last week. I really need to get into the habit of posting at least once every other day, if not everyday. I know how it is when I go to a blog and they haven't posted in while - I'll try harder.
I've decided that this is the year of improvement. If there is something in my life that needs improvement - I will try to do it. No, that is not a resolution for the new year - just something I will make a conscious effort to do. Resolutions never stay.

I have found that when I try to exercise at home - I don't do it as often as I would like (need) to - so I tried to find a health club or workout facility near either my home or work - but they are all massively expensive. So I tried to think of what I actually wanted in a work out facility. What activities do I actually like to do? Because if it's not fun - then I'm not going to want to go someplace and pay for something that sucks.
I used to be very active when I was younger. I would bike and rollerblade ALL SUMMER LONG - and I'm not kidding either. When I wasn't babysitting my brother - I was rollerblading or biking somewhere. I once rollerbladed from our apartment in Gary to my mom's work by Kmart in West Duluth. Those of you from D-town, know how far that is (it's about 6.5 miles). I literally did it with ease - no exaggeration. I would bike to the start of the Munger Trail (bythe Zoo) then bike it all the way to the top of Midway Road and coast my way down the hill and coast down Gary Street all the way back home. Loved it.

So where do you rollerblade in January in Minnesota, you ask? The Metrodome of course! Yes, they call it the "Rollerdome" - it's mainly Monday's Wednesdays and Friday's at the Metrodome - free parking and free coat/bag check - and it's only $5.50 for students! Woo hoo! That's what I'm talking about! Once or twice a week at the Rollerdome for some good cardio - sounds actually fun to me! They even play Top 40 and dance music so you don't just hear the hypnotic hum of the wheels with an occasional "OW!" from the newbies. I think it should be great for me - I'm going to try to go on Wednesdays and then add on Fridays or Saturdays.
2.5 times around = 1 mile!

Once the weather gets warmer - I will rollerblade on one of the many biking/blading trails in the area. Not to mention Softball season starts at the end of April! See I really do like to be active - that's why I sometimes wish that I had an outdoors job, or something that sort of forced me to be active during the day - instead of stuck here tied to the phones.

I really must be getting back to work - you see - I have a desk full of crap that needs to be done and I fully emphasize the word "crap". I will just envision the shopping that I get to do tonight. Retail therapy = the cure for everything.

Things you didn't know - or maybe you did

I stole this from Rocky's blog - www.nicesharpteeth.blogspot.com

It's fun. Feel free to steal it from me.

Four jobs I have had in my life

- Telemarketer - I think this is just something that everyone has to do at some point in time - it was my first job. They will hire anyone. That's probably why they suck so much.

- Cashier - it was ok.

- Daycare worker - both completely exhausting and rewarding at the same time.

- Office Manager - I rock at it - but I am SO (and I could not emphasize this more) UNDERAPPRECIATED - and there is nothing I hate more than that.

Four movies I could watch over and over

- Tommy boy - will always be my #1 favorite - Stacy and I can recite every line.

- Everafter - I'm a sucker for Drew Barrymore.

- Harry Potter - all of them over and over and over and over!!!!!!

- Garden State - it's my new favorite

*I'm adding a 5th because it's my list and I can

- Beaches - no need to explain this one - I bawl my eyes out every time.

Four places I have lived

- Minnesota
- Minnesota
- Minnesota
- Minnesota

* Since I have never lived in a different state I'm going to list the place I WANT to live:

- New York
- Caribbean - one of the U.S. Virgin Islands
- London
- anywhere on the west coast

Four TV shows I love to watch

- Friends - even if they are re-runs I love to watch em'

- Baby Story/Bringing Home Baby - TLC daytime TV - love to watch it when I stay home sick.

- Food Network - pretty much everything except Emeril - I find him thoroughly annoying.

- HGTV - everything except the landscaping shows - since I have no land to scape.

* also - CSI Las Vegas and Miami

Four places I have been on vacation

- Mexico - visited for 11 days- multiple cities

- Las Vegas - Stacy and I won a trip on the radio!

- New Orleans - before Hurricane Me

- Arizona - to visit my Ma

Four websites I visit daily

- The Nest.com - a newlywed website - it's cute.

- all recipes.com - to look for new recipes

- Yahoo - for email

- Google - for everything I get curious about

*I have an extensive blogroll - to many to list - but I do visit everyday.

Four of my favorite foods

- Pizza - I know it's totally cliche - but nothing beats a good pie.

- Mango - I love me a good mango - messy to prepare but it's worth it.

- Chipotle - veggie tacos - love it

- Crab legs - Yes I know I am a vegetarian - but I seriously love them - it's been so long.

Four places I would rather be

- Home

- doing something with my Mom

- on an adventure

- Hogwarts

Four albums I can't live without

- Garden State Sound track

- Celtic Women CD - shut up it's cool!

- The Beatles, One

- Missy Elliot, Under Construction

Four magazines I read

- Glamour - subscription

- Jane - subscription

- Vegetarian Times - subscription

- People - work subscription

Four cars I have owned

- Hyundai S Coupe - first car - sucked ass - but I loved when I first got it

- '96 Chevrolet Cavalier - car # 2 - sold it to Erin.

- '00 Ford Focus - I've had her for about 2 years now - I'll have her for a while I think.

I have only owned 3 cars in my life - so that's it.

So that's my list - now you know a little bit more about lil' ol me :)

Question # 15 - 2 more left after this!

Question #15 Am I capable of being alone? Does the prospect of spending an entire weekend alone, stimulate or panic me? If Im not in psychic shape for the occasional bout of solitude, I need to be. I need to start thinking about why being alone scares me and how I can overcome it.

Yes I am cabable of being alone. I have lived alone, slept alone, cooked alone, watched tv and movies alone. Though I have not gone to a restaurant to eat alone - I would just get it to go.
Geez I haven't spent a weekend alone in a long time - I'm sure I would do just fine.
I like shopping alone - because I take a loooooong time to shop - I like to browse and look at all the clearance stuff. Not everyone likes to do that.

I think I'm cool on this one.

1st blog of the New Year...

Yeah I know it's been a week already - but hey - that's me - Procrastinating Polly.
So I have no idea why I didn't post at all last week - just kinda lazy I guess.
I had a nice long New Year's weekend in Duluth with my girls - Stacy, Erin, Kate and Amy. We all went out and celebrated New Years as well as Erin's Birthday. We stayed out until freakin' 5:30 AM! Then we talked for an hour or so after we got home and woke up the next "morning" at about 1:30 and went out for "breakfast" at 3:00. It was fun!
I came home to a house full of stinky boys - Trav's buddies, Andy and Joel were still there. There were pizza boxes piled to the ceiling (not literally - but there were a lot) and the dining room table was in the living room.

- A little back story for ya:
When they guys decided to have "The Cabin" (the cabin = yearly ritual where all the boys go up to Andy's cabin for a weekend of pigging out and games) at our house (because Simon's car got totaled on the way up here from Texas so he couldn't drive all the way up to the cabin), Trav's first reaction was a womanly "Ahhh Man, I just cleaned!"
Then when I asked him if he wanted me to pick up some groceries for them for the weekend - he refused because he said Andy will eat everything in sight.

Back to original story:

I asked the guys what they had to eat that weekend while eyeing the piled greasy cardboard and empty fridge packs of Coke. Trav replied " Umm let's see, Papa John's, Taco Bell, Davanni's and Papa John's."
The little pigs - I guess it is a good think I didn't go grocery shopping - clearly I would not have bought enough food - nor would I have taken into consideration their laziness and lack of ability to cook for themselves. How silly of me.

We just now got around to doing the rest of the dishes and taking out the rest of the pizza boxes - the guys did do an ok job of cleaning up before they left - but there was still a lot of crap to take out to the the garbage.

So Monday evening I took the car up to my Aunt's house again so Tom could look at the fuel filter he just put in - it was leaking gas - he figured out where it was leaking from and then fixed it. But that still didn't fix what's wrong with the car. So I have to go back up there and have him replace the O2 sensor. I ended up cutting Tom's, my Aunt's and Connor's hair while I was there - so I didn't get home until around 9:00.
Tuesday I went to pick up my shirt that I forgot at my Aunt's house - and my Aunt said that Brittney has still been stealing. Now she is stealing from my Aunt and Tom. She even stole some money that was a Christmas present for Connor. She has seriously lost her damn mind.

January marked the two years we have had our crappy Nokia cell phone - so after two years with the same phone - Sprint gives you a $150 credit towards a new phone - So on Tuesday evening I picked out a lovely LG Camera phone. I swear - after having that mega ghetto phone for two years - I feel spoiled.

Wednesday - Trying to cheer Trav up (he's really worried about his sister Amy), we ordered pizza here at work and then we went to a movie - we saw The Ringer, with Johnny Knoxville. It was really stupid - no pun intended.
But I did end up cheering him up a bit - He can't stay sad while in my presence. It's part of my job as Super Wife.

Thursday - I went grocery shopping and made AWESOME tomato and basil panini's with our new panini maker. I basted the parmesan and garlic foccocia bread inside and out with garlic and olive oil, put on two layers of sliced tomatoes, fresh chiffonade basil leaves and provolone cheese.
Best panini ever. Then we watched True Life: I'm moving to New York. I SO have always wanted to visit - if not live in - New York. I had a boner during the whole show.

Friday - I got a new haircut after work and then went shopping at Target for a few things - and ended up spending $50 - never fails. Then I got home and Stacy was there hanging out with Trav. She was bored and wanted to hang out but I was shopping at Target so she figured she would come over and wait for me to get home. I'm a really slow shopper - so she ended up waiting for me for about an hour. Oopsie.
So we all went to Olive Garden for dinner and then we went to see the movie, Hostel. Not so much scary as it is gorey. Really gross at some parts. Stacy and I were more scared during the previews.

Trav and I spent the weekend pretty much laying around. Although Carmela and I walked to Petsmart on Saturday morning while Trav was at work, to enjoy the sunshine (finally!) and pick up some dog food for her. She also got a purple polo shirt - now I'm not one to dress her up for no reason, I mean she has a sweater and a fleece jacket that she wears for weather purposes only, But I just couldn't pass it up - and it was on sale for $1.99 for crying out loud!

Sunday we slept in until about 10:30, got up, Trav showered (I stayed funky all weekend), then we napped a bit, then cleaned and then pigged out - it was fun. I started putting details on the tiny Bruce I am making for Nancy. I will take pics of him as I go along.
I have a few more pics I want to share with you all - I will hopefully put them on the computer tonight and get to post them tomorrow.

other facts for your enjoyment upon closure of this riDONKulously long first blog of the new year:

I am hoping to finish the Questions of Reflection this week - there are only 3 left!
I start school on Thursday.
I brought Organic Mac and Cheese for lunch today - and an orange - which I need to eat right now before I starve to death.
I am wearing my new purple sweater today(that I got on clearance at Target for 3 freakin dollars! Woo Hoo) - and two other people in my office are wearing purple shirts too. Bastards. No one can ruin my purple thunder!

and I will leave you with that.
