Suck it, Ronald
Well it's been a while. This last weekend was good. I registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond on Friday - it took a lot longer than I thought so I did'nt make it to Target yet. Cleaned a bit on saturday because the bathroom was disgusting and I was sick of trying to get clean in a place that was so damn filthy. Then I watered all the plants and picked up Carmela's toys. We left for Duluth and talked about Harry Potter the entire way up. Travis couldn't stand not knowing what happened in the 4th book so I told him. Im still only about 8 or 9 chapters in to the 5th book. I haven't been able to read much lately because I was busy this weekend and now Jess is here - just untill tomorrow morning though. Trav chilled at Andrew's and I went over to visit Erin and Maisie. I bought Pizza Luce for us and we chowed like piglets. Sunday, I went over to my Aunt Sara's for a surprise early birthday party for Jesse, he turns 13 on September 20th. He just thought that we were having a bbq because it was his last day - then we brought out the cake and the presents - he had and excited/embarrased face as we were singing Happy Birthday to him. It was so cute. He got some new shoes and shirts and some cash. He liked the school supplies I got him - he drew me a picture on the way back down to the cities with his new pencils and notebooks. He was so sad Sunday night - he started bawling because he didn't want to go back to Arizona, so I snuggled with him and told him not to be a sad little turtle.
So last night Jess and I went to Walmart because he wanted to spend his gift certificate. There is a McDonald's in there and he bought himself a Big Mac and I had a sundae. As a vegetarian and someone who cares about their health, I refused to pay for his greasy trans-fat on a bun with a side of fatty fried potatos. So he bought it himself. As I was sitting there eating my delicious soft serve and hot gooey fudge in a cup - I couldn't help but be sort of entranced by the overwhelming scent of my brother's Big Mac. Looking past his cromagnum eating habits, the disgusting fatty sandwich was actually triggering something in me that made it look appealing. I looked away and tried to think of something else - but everywhere I looked I saw signs the size of billboards bearing their signature sandwich. Two patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun - the lyrics rang in my head. I had to get up and leave. I told Jess that I would be back in 10 mins to get him when he was finished devouring his fat burger. Walking through the bra's and panties, I came to the conclusion that McDonald's is evil and obviously laces their food with crack in order to addict the common folk to their obesity fueling food. There cannot be any other explanation to how I was feeling, because after we left, we picked up Travis and we went back to a McDonald's to get him a desert treat. He was practically drooling over the McNuggets beaming picture and we both struggled not to lick the screen.
Thanks to our self control, we survived unscathed and still healthy. I haven't eaten Mcdonald's since 6 months ago Stacy and Erin practically shoved it down my throat, it had been 6 months since that time too, I never plan to eat it again. I didn't feel like I wanted to eat it - I felt like I needed to eat it. It was scary.
My favorite and healthier "fast food" is Chipotle, which is incedently owned by the MCdonald's corporation. Go figure.
